Greta Thunberg: The Social Media Effect

I first heard  about Greta Thunberg when I learned she was be making a trip to New York back in August. Shortly after her arrival I started to follow her on Twitter. In the first couple of weeks of following her I was amazed and yet not surprised at the critics or should I say trolls attacking her. Not to mention those attacking her parents. I got the impression that her tweets were actually intimidating some of these people. It was actually amusing to see grown adults get upset over her right to speak out about the climate. Some going so far as to criticize how she is being raised to wondering why she isn’t in school.

Obviously these comments come from perfect people who know everything. I mean why would these people comment if they didn’t? In fact I’d venture to guess that these very same people are stable geniuses. That has to be it! They’re stable geniuses who know everything they need to know. I guess they’re walking encyclopedias. Kind of like Cliff Clavin from the the sitcom Cheers. That dude knew everything. People at the bar bowed to him because he was so smart. I wish I was as smart as these people. But I’m just a dunce cap with legs. I don’t understand how I get by in life. I’m surprised I was able to figure out how to take the bus or train. Especially when it came to getting to Citi Field using the Long Island Railroad. Oh my god, I am thinking about it now and just the thought of it frightens me. I actually had to take two trains. That’s right you heard me, TWO TRAINS!! If that wasn’t bad enough, I had to take another two trains to get home and in the opposite direction no less. I am surprised I wasn’t jumped while waiting for the second one. But somehow I made to Citi Field and back home in one piece. I am surprised I haven’t scheduled an appointment to see Dr. Linda Freeman the renowned psychologist who worked with Charlie Harper in Two and a Half Men.

Okay so maybe I am exaggerating just a little bit. But Geta has a message that she wants to share with the world. I only wish the trolls would learn to ignore her. They would be amazed how easy it is to accomplish this by simply blocking her account. Sadly I don’t that happening anytime soon. But I will continue to follow her page.

With that I will bring this post to close. As always I thank you visiting and hope you will come back soon.
